Our state-of-the-art, fully digitalised GMP laboratory processes your samples quickly and efficiently. You receive test results from one provider, documented to GMP standards and ready for inspection. Every assessment is made under the responsibility of the Head of Quality Control and, where batch release is involved, also under the responsibility of a Qualified Person under § 14 AMG.
Release testing and EU retesting of finished medicinal products
To ensure quality and safety, we carry out complete testing to your product specification, including batch release. Our services include:
- Spectroscopy: IR spectroscopy for identification, UV-VIS spectroscopy.
- Chromatography: thin-layer chromatography (identity and purity); gas chromatography for assay, purity and residual solvents, with FID detection, headspace and direct injection; liquid chromatography (HPLC, HPLC-MS/MS) for assay, related substances, enantiomeric purity and identity, with DAD and MS/MS detection.
- Physicochemical testing: clarity and opalescence, colour of liquids, pH, relative density, loss on drying, water content by Karl Fischer titration, ethanol content, methanol and 2-propanol.
- Testing of solid dosage forms: dissolution testing (on-line and off-line, paddle and basket apparatus), disintegration of tablets and capsules, tablet hardness, uniformity of content and uniformity of mass of single-dose preparations.
- Other tests: extractable volume of parenteral preparations, microscopy.

Testing of starting materials using pharmacopoeial methods
Quality control of raw and starting materials, excipients and active substances. Testing for identity, assay and purity according to the common national and international monographs (Ph. Eur., USP) or your own specifications.
Testing of cannabis flos and cannabis extracts
We test medicinal cannabis flowers and extracts in our GMP laboratory using validated methods, providing a reliable basis for entering the German and European markets. Testing covers both the German and the European Pharmacopoeia.
- Cannabis flowers in accordance with Ph. Eur. 07/2024:3028 (Cannabis flos) and Ph. Eur. 07/2017:1433 (Herbal drugs): macroscopic and microscopic identification and identification by TLC (Ph. Eur. 2.8.25); assay of the cannabinoids THC, THC-A, CBD and CBD-A by HPLC (Ph. Eur. 2.2.29); tests for cannabinol, foreign matter (Ph. Eur. 2.8.2) and loss on drying (Ph. Eur. 2.2.32); determination of total ash (Ph. Eur. 2.4.16).
- Cannabis extracts in accordance with the German Pharmacopoeia (DAB, standardised cannabis extract) and Ph. Eur. 04/2019:0765 (Herbal drug extracts): identification by TLC (Ph. Eur. 2.2.27), THC and CBD content by HPLC, purity tests including water content (Ph. Eur. 2.5.12), residual solvents such as ethanol (Ph. Eur. 5.4) and relative density (Ph. Eur. 2.2.5).
- Contaminants and microbiology: aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2 (Ph. Eur. 2.8.18), ochratoxin A (Ph. Eur. 2.8.22), pesticides and dithiocarbamates (Ph. Eur. 2.8.13), the heavy metals arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury (Ph. Eur. 2.4.27), and microbiological quality testing according to Ph. Eur. 5.1.8, categories A, B and C, and Ph. Eur. 5.1.4.
Biotechnological medicinal products
Testing of proteins, peptides including synthetic and recombinant peptides, oligonucleotides and mRNA. Assay and purity testing, molecular mass determination and determination of degradation products by HPLC-MS/MS (quadrupole). Purity by RP-HPLC or SEC-HPLC.
Trace analysis, method development, stability and microbiology
- Trace analysis by LC-MS/MS: triple quadrupole system for nitrosamines in the sub-nanogram range, the basis of every robust nitrosamine risk assessment.
- Method development: development, validation and transfer of analytical methods under GMP conditions.
- Stability testing: long-term, accelerated and in-use studies in line with ICH guidelines.
- Microbiological testing: microbial enumeration, sterility testing and bacterial endotoxins.
