Compassionate use programme: release granted

Patients were to receive a medicinal product not yet authorised for their indication. We oversaw its GMP-compliant transfer into the compassionate use programme and released it.

How it went

Initial situation, procedure, result.

Without embellishment and in the order in which it actually happened.

Anonymised. Confidentiality is part of our business; we only name clients with their consent.

Initial situation

What the client came to us with.

A medicinal product not yet authorised for a particular indication was to be made available to patients under a compassionate use programme. To do so, the product had to be transferred into the approved programme in a GMP-compliant manner and released for administration to patients.

Procedure

What exactly we did.

We oversaw the GMP-compliant transfer of the authorised medicinal product for use in the approved compassionate use programme. We then released the product for administration to patients.

Result

What came out of it in the end.

The supply of the medicinal product to patients was ensured, even though it is not yet authorised for this indication.
